Josephine Heath, who is the president of the Community Foundation of Boulder County, talks about growing up in California and Oregon and working in the fields. She describes her education and early work as a teacher, as well as her community and political involvement: including the YWCA, AAUW, Democratic Party, Clinica Campesina in Lafayette, migrant housing (Casa Esperanza) in Longmont, being a Boulder County Commissioner (starting in 1982), and chairing the Colorado Commission on Women. She talks about gender inequality and the struggle for women’s rights.
