Virginia Maestas was born in Longmont, Colorado; early years spent in the San Luis Valley. Her parents traveled all over the state as migrant workers including work with beets and potato crops. Came to Boulder in 1945; Arapahoe School, Casey Jr. High, Sacred Heart Church; language problems; St. Thomas Aquinas Church; Head Start, OEO; Office of Economic Opportunity; Follow Through; discrimination.
